Witch Cauldron Spider Crochet Pattern — Halloween Amigurumi
About this pattern
A big, squishy chenille spider hauling a bubbling witch's cauldron on its back. Two pieces that come together into one showpiece — roughly 25 × 29 cm (9.8 × 11.4 in) across the legs. It's the Halloween decoration that people pick up and squeeze.
What you get
- 10-page PDF, instant download after purchase
- 64 step photos — every stage of the cauldron, head, legs and the full assembly is shown
- US crochet terms, round by round with stitch counts on every line
- A dedicated illustrated section on closing rounds with a slip stitch (11 photos) so your piece doesn't skew
The build
The cauldron is worked from the base up in black, then the potion top goes in with a back-loop colour change — and the leftover front loops become a ch-4 bubble edging around the rim, which is what gives the potion that foaming look. A second row of front loops makes the cauldron's lip. Two chained handles and a few orange embroidery lines finish it.
The spider is a stuffed head with four safety eyes (16 mm and 12 mm pairs), two tiny teeth, and six legs in three different lengths — the pattern gives each pair its own shaping so they splay and curve instead of sticking out straight. The front pair sews to both head and body so the legs wrap around the head.
Skills & materials
- Level 3 of 5. Comfortable with magic ring, sc, inc, dec, BLO/FLO and a bit of assembly sewing
- #5 bulky / chenille yarn — purple, light purple, green, black, orange. About 1 skein purple, 1 skein black, half a skein of each of the rest
- 4 mm (G/6) hook, stitch marker, sewing needle, fiberfill
- Safety eyes: 16 mm ×2 and 12 mm ×2
Rounds are closed with a slip stitch rather than worked in a spiral — the pattern explains exactly why and how. Colours are a suggestion; the same pattern works in any Halloween palette you like.
