Little Bear Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
About this pattern

A soft, standing teddy with a gently stitched muzzle, rounded paws and a face that looks like it is thinking about something.
Little Bear is a classic amigurumi bear worked from the legs up, so the body is one continuous piece with no seam at the hips and no wobble when you stand it on a shelf. The legs join into the body at Round 12, the arms attach at Round 28, and everything else — head, muzzle, ears, cheeks, tail — sews on at the end.
Why You'll Love This Pattern:
- Four stitches, that's all — magic ring, single crochet, increase and invisible decrease. Nothing else appears anywhere in the pattern.
- Legs worked into the body — a proper standing bear, not two legs stitched onto a ball.
- Clean stitch-count column — every round has its total in the right-hand column, so you can scan down and check your work at a glance.
- Placement notes that matter — where to set the eyes (between rnds 15 and 16, 7–8 sc apart), where to sew the ears (between rnds 5 and 14), and how to flatten and close the legs so the join is invisible.
- Adjustable proportions — attach the legs a round later and the bear reads as plumper. The pattern tells you exactly where that choice lives.
- Worked in a continuous spiral — no join line running up the body.
- Any yarn, any size — worsted cotton for a neat sculpted bear, velvet for a squishy one. The bear scales with your hook.
What's in the PDF
- Round-by-round instructions with stitch counts for: legs (make 2), body, arms (make 2), head, muzzle, ears (make 2), cheeks (make 2) and tail
- Abbreviations key in US crochet terms
- Notes on joining the legs, closing the leg tops, eye placement and ear placement
- Full-colour photography including close-ups of the muzzle, paws and face shaping
You will need
- Yarn: worsted or DK in a bear shade (the sample is warm beige), plus white or cream for the muzzle
- Hook: one size smaller than your yarn label recommends, so the stuffing does not show through
- Also: polyfill stuffing · safety eyes · black yarn or embroidery thread for the nose and brows · pink thread for the cheek detail · tapestry needle · stitch marker
Please note: this pattern is for the bear — body, head, limbs, muzzle, ears, cheeks and tail. The pink knitted romper and pompom hat in the photographs are styling, and are not included as instructions.
