Lamb in Overalls Crochet Pattern — Beginner Amigurumi Sheep
About this pattern
A little lamb in dungarees and a jumper, with a head covered in loopy white curls and folded ears peeking out from underneath. Quick to make, endlessly recolourable, and the sort of thing you end up making four of.
What you get
- 5-page PDF, instant download after purchase
- US crochet terms laid out as a clean round-by-round table with stitch counts in their own column
- A colour key you can swap out — the pattern says outright to choose your own
- Simple assembly notes, four steps
The build
The curls are the trick that makes this lamb. Rounds 2–7 of the head are worked in back loops only, leaving six rounds of free front loops behind. You come back afterwards and work 1 sc and a 5-chain into every one of those stitches — the chains spring up into a dense fleece of loops covering the whole crown. No fiddly separate pieces, no loop stitch to learn.
The body starts as two legs in brown shoes, joined with a 3-chain bridge and worked as one from there up — so there's no sewing a body to legs and hoping it stands straight. Partway up you change to the jumper colour with a back-loop round, and the free front loops of that round become the dungaree bib, worked as three short rows with two chained straps crossed over the shoulders.
The face is safety eyes with an embroidered nose and mouth, plus optional blushed cheeks and a small star or heart on the bib.
Skills & materials
- Beginner-friendly. Magic ring, sc, inc, dec and BLO/FLO — that's the whole stitch list. Worked in continuous rounds
- Six colours: light peach (head, ears, hands), white (curls), brown (feet), a blue or purple for the dungarees, a yellow, pink or red for the jumper
- Safety eyes, black and brown thread, fibrefill
- Yarn weight and hook are yours to choose — the pattern is written so any combination works, and the lamb comes out proportional either way
